11/8/03 - Holy crap! I'm @ Nekocon 6 right now, and I'm currently recovering from one HELL of a great broadcast last night here in the ConSuite. My guests were Shin-Goji a.k.a. Sean McGuinness of Twisted Kaiju Theatre fame, Steve Bennett of IronCat Entertainment, and Shawn the Touched The late night shows are ALWAYS the best, since we throw off the shackles that are no-cussing rules and tackle ANY subject, no matter how taboo it may be. I'll soon have the high-quality versions of the shows ready for download, so don't worry if you missed out! Our next live show will be sometime around 4pm today, so be sure to tune in.
9/8/02 - Posting from an undisclosed location for this update, I PROMISE you that I will be making some changes to the broadcast lineup. Other issues have cropped up, (such as a job change and otehr RealLife stuff) so it's put a bit of a delay on things. Don't worry! There WILL be new stuff playing soon!
7/67/02 - What's this? An update?!? Will wonders never cease! Due to the fact that it was either pay $5 a month, or ditch the station all together, I figured I'd get up off of my butt and actually DO SOMETHING with the Internet Radio station that is RoAnime Radio! I'll be adding a bunch of new stuff to the passive playlist, as well as change a few of the current songs in the lineup.
As for new content, I'm looking for some! If you've got some great Techno/Anime/Video Game Mp3s, drop me an E-Mail and let's talk!
1/19/02 - Live show is tonight at 9:30 pm EST! Be sure to hang out in the chat room and talk with other listeners, maybe even make a few requests!
1/15/02 - Back on track, and a live show coming up! That's right, we're going back to a live format on the weekends! The first live show of the year will be on Saturday, January 19th at 9:30 pm EST. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I'll also be slowly updating the static broadcast with new content, I'll let you know when I get the first of the new songs up and playing.
As for Katsucon, we'll be broadcasting live, with some of the great Anime and Video game challenges that you've come to expect from us. No one was able to defeat Vash the Stampede in Quake III Arena, so we'll still have that challenge up. Heck, maybe I'll take all challenges as welll, hmmm....
1/09/02 - Whoa, time warp.... After a LONG gap in updates, we've actually got something to do! That's right, new content, new shows, and new live broadcasts. All in good time, though. For now, just come to our first RoAnime meeting of the year, this Sunday (01/13/02) and hear an anouncement by me about live shows and something about Katsucon...
10/26/01 - After a long car-ride up, (and some hilarious late-night help with con setup) the first wave of RoAnime Radio people manage to wake up at the ungodly hour of 6:47 a.m. (Well, at least I did. - Rez)
Our first LIVE show from Nekocon will be at 5 PM Eastern Standard time. Use the link above to set WinAMP a-playin'! We're sure to have a good show for you, and have quite a lot of stuff to give away on-air from the great people at AsianMunchies.com
And just to re-assure you that we will have our live shows, I just uploaded this from our hotel room at Nekocon, room #170. :-)
10/21/01 - Whew, long time with no updates! Been quite busy with getting everything ready for Nekocon as well as sorting out all of the Anime Deathmatches!
We'll be doing live shows on Friday Afternoon, Saturday afternoon and late-night, and Sunday morning. We'll post the actual times here once we get settled in at Nekocon. That's right, we'll be going LIVE. (No really, we mean it this time! ^_^)
We'll have our projector along with us to spectate the Anime Deathmatches, and maybe our good friends from SPOA will be there to lend use of their own projector before their great showing of "Wild Zero" after the Nekocon Cosplay. We'll also have a LOT of prizes to give away, and plenty of chances to win something!
8/13/01 - Big changes abound here at RoAnime Radio... so big, we just can't tell you right now! The radio is back up, 24/7 now, with a LOT more content going up into the playlist. Now is a great time to tune in and listen! Word about our attendance to the upcoming Nekocon Flash will be posted soon.
7/7/01 - Had a great live show from FragStock last night, unfortunatly, the show didn't save itself to be played back at a later time! I've found the problem, and it has been sacked.
The next live show from FragStock will be 6 PM EST. And I will hopefully be calling a few of the Quake III Tournament matches, all for except the 1 vs 1 matches, since I'll be playing in those. More interview, impressions, and general mayhem to come!
7/6/01 - W00t! I'm updating this from FragStock right now as we speak! T1 Line r0x0r5 j00 477!
Later on tonight, say... 10 or 11 PM EST, I'll be doing the live show from right here at FragStock I'll have updates on popular games, mods, and the general mayhem of a big LAN party. Maybe even call a few tourney matches! ^_^
6/28/01 - Well Live365 is being a real pain in the ass, and for some reason, I can't upload the show recorded from AMA. Grr.
On the good side of things, RoAnime Radio is heading up to FragStock and its been CONFIRMED that a connection will be there, I just need to discuss with the SysAdmin about letting the stream get out. I might do a few interviews with the FragStock staff, and maybe even call a few of the tournament matches! The dates for FragStock are July 6th, 7th, and 8th, so you can expect the show to be broadcasting almost all weekend long (If we can broadcast live)
6/18/01 - Ugh... awake 48 hours and 13 minutes... Give me some time to get some sleep and sort out everything before I give my report from Anime Mid-Atlantic. The show will be online soon, as well as other things. ZZZZzzzzz...
6/14/01 - W00t! We're gonna be at Anime Mid-Atlantic tommorow, hopefully broadcasting LIVE, right outside the Dealer's Room! How cool is that? We're gonna have me, (DJ Reznor) plus a couple of other guest DJs running the server. (I gotta do my shift in Video Rooms 2 and 3)
HOPEFULLY, we'll have a phone jack close enough to our table, but if we don't, I'll just record the whole show and play it back later. Which brings me to the issue of the router...
I've got the new router and its running just fine, its what is connected to the back of the router that sucks. That's right, my cablemodem! Now it has dropped even further in speed, to a blistering 10k a seccond. And I'm stuck paying $40 a month for this piece of crap. It's that, or go back to phone lines that can't do any higher than 28.8 Take your pick. I've been griping and bitching non-stop to the local office, and doing my best also contact the main office of Charter Communications. From what I hear, if your cablemodem originates from EarthLink, but is on Charter's service, it's kosher. But, for some reason, Charter Communications doesn't even acknowledge that cablemodem service is avaliable in my area. Grr.
6/3/01 - Mwha ha ha! I updated before Postmaster did! Now that's a first! Anyway, I'm trying my best to get the Radio back up and running, unfortunatly, a lightning bolt has put a slight crimp in my plans because now my router sits in a corner, twitching away and refuses to work. The firmware got fried BIGTIME, so now all its good for is a paperweight.
Hopefully I'll have at least SOMETHING playing so you can listen to it. Live365.com does have the ability to stream stuff I upload to my allocated 365 meg space, so I could use that for a while untill I get the new router.
RoAnime Radio will be at Anime Mid-Atlantic this coming June 15th through the 17th, since RoAnime itself is helping by staffing the video rooms! How cool is that? We'll also have our Omakecon table there, so you can get more info. about our con and maybe even pre-register, plus you could be on the radio if you like. ^_^
5/15/01 - Okay, the server isn't dead, but the connection sure is. I just caught word from the "geek underground" out where I live that Charter Communication (my cablemodem provider) has started capping transfer speeds to 20k/sec for any user that uses their service more than 40 hours a month. That's bad, but whats worse is that their method of capping the transfer speed drops more packets than Sean Ryder drops food on the ground.
What this all boils down to is, unless Charter Communication changes their policy or their packet loss porblem, or someone can host the Shoutcast server for us, I can't run RoAnime Radio. It doesn't need much, but it does need a dedicated connection that can support at least a constant 5K/sec transfer to get the stream up to our relay. I've got lots of content to play for all of you, but just no connection to stream it on. We'll still do our live remote broadcasts, but untill further notice, RoAnime Radio will be offline. Contact me at the e-mail addy above about any aid that you can provide.
4/19/01 - The server is slowly dying, and may not be online as much. I'm working on it as much as I can to keep it going. (It's just a Compaq found in a dumpster, after all!) If anyone has a Slot 1 motherboard avaliable cheap, contact me.
4/17/01 - RoAnime Radio is up and working again
4/4/01 - Radio show this Friday2/27/01 - RoAnime Radio will be down for a while as it is under maintenance - please take note of this before trying to connect to the server. Thanks!
2/19/01 - RoAnime Radio's first claim to fame - RA-Radio broadcasts live from Katsucon in Arlington Virginia, featuring celebrity guest Tristan MacAvery, a director of many excellent anime dubs and a skilled V.A. in his own right.
